Flu Vaccinations for Children

Protection Against Influenza

The CDC categorizes all children 6-23 months and children two and older with underlying chronic medical conditions as priority groups for receiving the influenza (flu) vaccine. Flu vaccines are administered free of charge. A parent or guardian must accompany the child. To check flu vaccine availability please call (918) 595-4500.

A special Saturday clinic will be available on Saturday, November 3rd for any individuals over the age of six months. The clinic will be located at the Tulsa Community College West Campus at 7505 W. 41st Street from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Flu vaccines for children will be available at these times and locations beginning November 5th:

Healthy Habits During Flu Season

When possible, one of the best protections against the flu is to get vaccinated. However, the CDC recommends these additional habits for good health.

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. Use an alcohol-based hand cleaner when you can't wash your hands.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick as much as possible.
  • If you get the flu, stay home to avoid spreading it.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, as germs can enter your system this way.
