9th Annual 'Make It Your Business' Employee Health and Wellness Conference May 28th in Tulsa

TULSA, OK - [May 8, 2015] – Oklahoma employers, businesses and companies will gather at OSU-Tulsa, 700 N. Greenwood Ave., on May 28th for the 9th annual ‘Make It Your Business Employee Health and Wellness Conference: A Healthy Tulsa Now.’ Hosted by the Tobacco Free Coalition for Tulsa County, the conference will help local employers and organizations understand what it takes to create and implement an effective wellness program, how to create a culture of health, and how to inspire and engage their workforce toward behavior change. 

“Employee health and wellness is directly tied to the health of the company’s bottom line,” said Chair of the Tobacco Free Coalition for Tulsa County Paula Warlick. “Conference attendees will benefit from the wide variety of speakers and breakout sessions and return to their workplace ready to cultivate a strong wellness culture.”

Dee Edington, Ph.D., will deliver the keynote address. Edington is the nationally renowned author of Zero Trends: Health as a Serious Economic Strategy. Oklahoma NewsChannel 8 reporter Kim Jackson will emcee the event. Jackson is a certified personal trainer and passionate about encouraging others as they pursue healthy lifestyles.

The conference will include a Healthy Executive recognition luncheon, at which point the winners of the 2015 Healthy Executive challenge will be announced. Past winner Mark Gray, executive director of Inverness Village, will deliver the luncheon keynote address.

Employers of any size are encouraged to register online for the conference at www.tulsa-health.org/miyb. Human resource personnel, employee relations committees, wellness and prevention coordinators, productivity managers, and human resource consultants will greatly benefit from attending. Online registration ends May 27; however, attendees can still register in person on the day of the event. Registration includes continental breakfast and catered lunch.
