Renewing your Food Handler Permit
Food Handler Permits expire three years from the date you purchase your food handler permit. There are two ways to obtain a renewal card:
- Attend another Food Handler Class and pass the examination.
- Pass a comprehensive Food Handler Class Waiver Test. If you fail the Waiver Test, you must attend another food handler class in order to receive a new permit.
Food Handler Class Waiver Test Information
- You must pass the test within 30 days of to your permit’s expiration.
- Nonrefundable class fee is $10 cash; no checks accepted.
- Call 595-4335 to pre-register.
- Class size is limited to 50.
- Waiver tests are available at the THD Expo Square Health Center location only.
- Waiver tests are available only in English.
