Physical Exams

Comprehensive and Confidential

Physical exams are an important part of Family Planning. They let your health care provider determine whether you may receive a prescription for certain methods of birth control, or help you prepare for a healthy pregnancy. At THD, we also see the comprehensive exams as an opportunity to screen for diseases and help educate about healthy choices. The exams include, for women, a Pap smear and clinical breast exam. They also include testing for such conditions as diabetes or anemia. You may also be asked if your family has a history of certain medical conditions.

Inset - Family -PhysicalFamily-planning physical exams are provided by women’s health nurse practitioners or family nurse practitioners. Our staff is ready to help and listen in both English and Spanish. Like all of our family planning services, the exams and outcomes are confidential.

Family planning physical exams are provided to women (13 and older) and men on a sliding scale fee-for-service at the following THD locations. Please call for an appointment.
