Pandemic Influenza Planning

Preparing at the Local Level

Pandemic Flu Cover

A flu pandemic is a rapidly spreading global outbreak of a novel influenza strain. Health officials worldwide are currently monitoring the swine flu virus and are concerned about its potential to spread globally. Although there are currently no confirmed cases of swine flu in Oklahoma, it is always good to have a plan in place.

Here in our community, The Tulsa Health Department has prepared a comprehensive public health pandemic preparedness and response plan for the Tulsa area. The Tulsa Health Department Pandemic Influenza Plan serves as a guide for pandemic-related actions and as an educational resource for other agencies, healthcare providers, businesses and individuals in the Tulsa area who must prepare for the disruptive effects of a potential influenza pandemic.

We encourage members of our community to review the checklists below for guidance on how to prepare in advance.
