2009 - World Health Day
The 2009 theme for the THDARC Special Event is "Save Lives - Make Hospitals Safe in Emergencies." This theme, adopted from the World Health Organization's "World Health Day 2009" campaign, focuses on the resilience and safety of health facilities and the health workers who treat those affected by emergencies.
Operating activities this year will focus on expanding the knowledge base of the Department's amateur radio operators through the incorporation in the special event of multiple redundant capabilities including several different transceivers, antennas and data interfaces and through the integration of several different operating modes including voice, PSK31, RTTY, CW and Slow Scan TV.
