Wellness Leader's Academy

Wellness Leader's Academy LogoThe Tulsa City-County Health Department is offering a 10-month Wellness Leader’s Academy training built around one strategy:  practical employee wellness program training to support all individuals that are responsible for the creation, administration, and evaluation of company wellness programs. Each monthly training module will introduce new aspects of employee wellness programs with expert direction in coordination, research and data collection, evaluation, and offers interaction with fellow professionals. These classes bring a mix of discussion, group policy creation, question/answer sessions, and brain storming. Each participant will be asked to give an overview of their company’s employee wellness program. Homework may include group assignments, investigation, and preparation for class presentations

Leadership of this Academy will include health promotion specialists, registered nurses, exercise specialists, dieticians, tobacco control specialists, wellness educators, physicians, analysts, and insurance/benefits consultants. Each session will be scheduled from 1:00- 4:00 pm at the James Goodwin Health Center.

Target Audience:
  • Open to local businesses, non-profits, organizations, and individuals
  • Participants must be willing to commit to the full program by signing attendance contract that allows for no more than two absences
  • Businesses whose current wellness program is in the beginning stages, requires enhancement to existing program, or those who do not have a program in place but are committed to creating a wellness program in the future
Tuition
Participant: $360.00
Application and payment due: July 2, 2009.
Tuition is non-refundable to all participants upon acceptance and their commitment to the program. Participants must pay tuition prior to the first session.
