Summer Carnival

Summer CarnivalThe Tulsa Health Department in partnership with the YWCA will host a Free family carnival on Saturday, August 15th from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 5424 N. Madison in Tulsa. The carnival will offer families free food, music, games, and jupiter jumps as well as access to free back to school immunizations and school supplies for children. Additionally, the Tulsa Health Department will provide adult health screenings and provide information on how to access various Health Department programs available to the community. The North YWCA will have open enrollment for their Early Learning Center which serves children six weeks of age to 11 years of age.

"The Tulsa Health Department is focused on improving the health of citizens in Tulsa North. This family celebration is a fun way to introduce the community to what services the Tulsa Health Department has to offer." stated Tulsa Health Department Associate Director Reggie Ivey.

The Tulsa Health Department has recently begun offering health prevention services at the North YWCA building located at 5424 N. Madison. The Tulsa Health Department plans to construct a North Regional Health and Wellness Center at 56th Street North and Cincinnati within the next two years. The center would include preventive health services, primary care services, and educational and job training services.

"The Tulsa Health Department recognizes that the status of health of our citizens in northern Tulsa County continues to decline. We believe by offering preventive health services in the area, we can begin to see improvements in health outcomes." stated Tulsa Health Department Director Gary Cox.
